SCPARC Annual Meeting
Presenter Submission Page
When: January 13th & 14th, 2024
Where: The Port Royal Sound Foundation Maritime Center
If you are interested in presenting an oral presentation or poster at this year’s Annual Meeting, please submit an abstract, title, and presenter description to scherpsociety@gmail.com by December 15th, 2023. We request that all oral presentations and posters relate to reptiles and/or amphibians of South Carolina. Different topics or presentations discussing work from a different state can be accepted, as long as the presenter clearly defines the relationship between their topic and South Carolina’s reptiles and amphibians in their submission. Details about presentations and posters can be found below. If you would like to present, but cannot meet this deadline, please contact the email above with details so we can determine if a deadline extension can be provided.
Oral Presentation
Presenters will be provided a 15 minute presentation period to discuss their research followed by a 5 minute question period. A title of your presentation and an abstract must be submitted to scherpsociety@gmail.com by December 15th, 2023. We will provide a computer, projector, and audio equipment for powerpoint presentations. Please let us know if you need any other materials for your presentation. After your presentation has been accepted, we will request that you send us your power point presentation (if you have one) prior to the meeting so we can have your presentation queued and ready to go during the annual meeting.
If more time is needed to present your material, or if certain times during the annual meeting weekend will not work for your schedule, please contact us and we will see if we can accommodate this request.
Poster
Poster mounting boards should be 36″ x 48″ and effectively relay the topic and information of you research in this space. A title of your poster and an abstract must be submitted to scherpsociety@gmail.com by December 15th, 2023. Please clearly indicate in the subject line of the email you are submitting a poster (not a presentation).
All posters must be set up on the morning of January 13th by 9:00am. Meeting attendees will be able to visit the posters throughout the day, but a designated poster session will be scheduled during the meeting and poster authors are required to be by their posters to answer any questions during this time.
